Power Yoga, Core Power Yoga - 2006
Yoga Sculpt, Core Power Yoga - 2006
Hot Power Fusion, Core Power Yoga - 2006
Background/Philosophy:
Some say I am not your typical yoga instructor. I train hard, lift big weights, and believe you can find peace and serenity even in a sweaty gym. I started in gymnastics as a child and have found that same playful movement on my yoga mat. My path has not always been easy and I can relate to students' struggles both on the mat and in the world. My energy, humility, enthusiasm, and compassion have allowed me to develop a loyal following of athletic students. Throughout my many personal and professional struggles, I have worked hard on maintaining a positive attitude, turning what some may see as setbacks into opportunities and making the most of each moment. The time on my yoga mat is always for me to see my True Self and to live from this place.
“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over it became a butterfly."

Background/Philosophy:
The body is meant to be in motion. In modern society we have been overwhelmed by motor vehicles, fast food and technology...physical activity has become an option. I believe keeping our bodies active is a necessity. Yoga is perfect for every part of the body; the mind, the bones, the joints, the muscles, the lungs and the heart. The benefits are complete for the individual; as yoga strengthens the body and calms the mind. Daily doses of yoga create a strong body, calm mind and life is less stressful leading to joy in all we do.

Background/Philosophy:
“The grass is greener wherever you water it.” Yoga is for everyone, and anything is possible! Each posture can be modified to make the practice accessible to all students, no matter age or physical abilities. That is the beauty of yoga. The yogi who can keep a “beginner’s heart,” and a smile on her face, will always be successful because she can approach each practice as if it is the very first time. An open mind and heart can transform us in our practice, and in our lives. Michelle’s yoga classes rock to the sounds of reggae, hip hop and R&B music, and she hopes to share her enthusiasm for yoga by bringing joy and humor into her practice.

Erica Borenstein
Training/Certifications:

200 hour, Yoga Alliance approved, Power Yoga teacher training through Core Power in Denver, Colorado.
Yoga Background:
Erica's journey into yoga started in 1999 after the birth of her first daughter. She initially started yoga to get back into shape and to help balance her life as a mother and a corporate attorney. She was instantly hooked and finally began to teach in 2007 after she left her corporate job. Erica creates a light-hearted environment in which students explore a physically challenging, yet mindful practice, and cultivate compassion through self acceptance. She hopes to make students, especially new ones, both comfortable and excited about their yoga practice, and all the many joys and challenges it offers. Erica is continually inspired by the dedication and energy of the GAC community. While off the mat, Erica enjoys playing with her two beautiful daughters and running (preferably in the dark under a full moon). Any opportunity she gets to spend at the beach is considered time well spent.
Background/Philosophy:
When people live with true freedom in the body and peace of mind we can be more compassionate, energetic, and spontaneous -- and thus contribute positive action and love to our families, communities, and to the world.

John Cruise
Training/Certifications:

I started practicing yoga as a student of Siri Dharma Singh Khalsa, who was in turn a student of Yogi Bhajan, in 1985. Yogi Bhajan is often credited with introducing Kundalini yoga to the Western world in 1969. During my five years of study, my teacher developed his own certification program, primarily because there were no yoga certification programs in Colorado at that time, and I was the first student to complete the training. I began teaching at the Greenwood Athletic Club in the summer of 1990 and have continued without a significant interruption for 17 and a half years.
Background/Philosophy: My goal is to provide GAC members with the opportunity to experience the physical, mental, emotional, and psychological benefits that the practice of Kundalini offers.

Yoga Teacher Training in 1998 led to more formal studies in California and India, with many nationally and internationally known teachers of yoga including Baron Baptiste, John Friend, Tias Little, and Deepak Chopra.
Background/Philosophy:
